On May 10, 2024 – A double shooting erupted on the Passyunk Avenue Bridge early this morning, leaving one man dead and another critically injured, according to sources close to law enforcement.
The incident reportedly unfolded near the “gentlemen’s clubs” on the 61st Street side of the bridge.
Details remain scarce, but witnesses reported “lots of bullet shell casings” at the scene.
One Victim Found Dead in Crashed Car
The first victim was discovered shot and killed inside a crashed car on the bridge.
According to a report from Action News, the gunfire erupted around 8:30 PM, shattering the peace of the evening. Police rushed to the scene to investigate the harrowing ordeal, revealing disturbing details of the violence that unfolded.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a grim scene. A 23-year-old man was found slumped in a white Chevrolet Malibu, fatally wounded by gunfire. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the man succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a scene of tragedy and sorrow.
Second Victim Found Alive, Rushed to Hospital
The second victim, also shot, was found on the 61st Street side of the bridge and rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.

The most heartbreaking aspect of this ordeal is the involvement of an innocent child. Witnesses reported seeing a nine-year-old girl emerge from the white car following the fatal crash, running down the Passyunk Avenue Bridge amidst the chaos of the scene. Miraculously, she was scooped up by a Good Samaritan and taken to safety, but not before suffering a graze wound to her head from a stray bullet.
Despite the severity of her injury, the young girl remains conscious and alert, a testament to her resilience in the face of adversity. She has been transported to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for further treatment, where medical staff are closely monitoring her condition
